What would you need to know if the ordinary things of life started mutating at a fast pace around you: plants, animals, people, society, and language? What if reality or evolution was put on “fast-forward”?

The models are not merely rented either. Llama passed one billion downloads in March 2025, and Hugging Face hosts over two million public models. The ones people deploy are small: the median runs around 400 million parameters, sized for hardware you already own.2

Which is the part that matters to you: an AI running on infrastructure you control never sends your work to someone else's API. Your files and your clients' secrets stay in your estate. Where privilege or HIPAA governs what leaves the building, that is the deciding factor.

None of this is peculiar to AI. Nearly everything that runs on a server is done better using Open Source and open standards: Operating Systems, web servers, databases, virtualization, containerization, networking, cloud applications, websites, backups, firewalls, clusters, VPNs, Zero Trust, multi-WAN aggregation, Remote Monitoring and Maintenance, M365 management, intrusion detection, domain controllers, file sharing, ML and LLMs, etc.

The learning curve is steep, but things work, scale well, and maintenance costs are low.*

What counts as a well-built server is not a matter of opinion.
